L'art de Guy Martin: A Lensman's View of a Michelin Starred Chef

An extraordinary work of art, this book is a masterpiece created by Yoshihiro Saito, an award-winning editor, publisher, graphic designer, and photographer. Saito has dreamed for years to create the most beautiful cookbook in the world, and searched for The Chef who would interpret his vision. This was finally realized after a meeting with the famous Chef Guy Martin of Le Grand Véfour, the oldest restaurant in Paris, founded in 1760 and frequented in the past not just by Napoleon and Josephine but also by Victor Hugo and Colette.

This piece of art delights the eyes and senses and inspires cooks, photographers and designers. This work, which took almost three years to complete, includes new recipes created especially for this book as well as recipes that pay homage to Guy Martin's Savoyard roots and recipes of Le Grand Véfour's classic dishes.

A total of 63 recipes are featured accompanied by breathtaking illustrations and spectacular macro photography which are at once daring and subtle. All photos show the real dishes of Guy Martin, photographed within minutes after the dishes were served at Le Grand Véfour not in a studio, and without any manipulations by a food stylist.

This collectible, 636-page elaborate "art book" is serial-numbered, bound with the original damask tablecloth used at Le Grand Véfour, and as a nod to Saito's Japanese heritage and Martin's French artistry, comes with a pair of silver Christofle chopsticks. Only 3,000 numbered copies are made worldwide. Published in 2009.
